Eid al-Adha Sheep Cupcakes

Eid is the most magical time of the year! And it comes twice a year --how cool is that? :) Eid al-Adha was a week ago and it was the first time since I started law school that I pursued a baking project. I know isn't it sad that I don't have time to bake as much? It's quite a tragedy. Law school has taken up my life. It's scary. It's hard. But, it's AMAZING! I love going to school and learning the fundamentals. It's gotten to the point where I have dreams about Torts cases we read about. I know it may seem as if I'm going crazy, but I'm totally okay with it, hehe. So it's not that much of a tragedy :)

Okay sorry for going on a law school tangent, but you might as well get used to it :) Back to Eid and the cupcakes! I went on Pinterest (of course :)) and found a picture of sheep cupcakes. I saw how cute they were and instantly decided that I HAD TO MAKE THEM!

Ingredients:
1 box of chocolate cake mix (and the ingredients listed on the box)
White icing (homemade or store-bought)
Chocolate icing (homemade or store-bought)
Wilton # 17 flower tip
Wilton # 104 petal tip
Wilton # 101 petal tip
Wilton # 7 round tip
Wilton # 4 round tip

Instructions
1. Bake the cupcakes according to the mix direction. You can use whatever cake mix recipe you want. I was being lazy and chose the cake mix!
2. Let the cupcakes cool completely (You don't want the icing the melt while applying)
3. First apply the white sheep fur look. You will need white icing and the #17 flower tip. All you have to do is squeeze the icing up and repeat to cover the entire cupcake.

4. Then to make the circular part of the face use chocolate icing and the #104 petal tip. All you do for this is squeeze it out and twirl the cupcake around until you make a full circle.

5. To add the ears, use the same chocolate icing and the #101 petal tip. Start from the top of the big circle and just drag it out. Repeat on the other side.
6. Switch back to the white icing and use the # 7 round tip to make the eyes.
7. Then go back to the chocolate icing and use the # 4 round tip to make the pupil in the eyes.

Me with one of the sheep :)
